Portrait Tattoos

Category: , , , , By Fun Fever
Portrait tattoos are some of the hardest tattoos to get right. Any body can do them but few can do them right. In tattooing you can learn all of the technical stuff you want and put in a line as good as anybody. Once you have reached as far you can get technically that’s when artistic ability takes over.

Even the one's that were on the pretty awkward side as far as proportion and other factors, weren't that awful. I've seen some pretty fugly portrait tattoos

for some .....odd reasons the marilyn monroe tat has a really bad but i mean really bad lazy eye. I would really hate to have paid bout 400$ on a very detailled portrait tat and get a botch job like that
poor dude who got that tatooed and whoops it out with his buddys and gets laughed at because his tat has a lazy eye. Seeing that i`d laugh for weeks

To think any of those are photoshops you must be really stupid. Its so funny when ignorant people act like they know what there talking about.

Honestly most of them were really good, im personaly a tattoo artist and those who say that they dont believe that they a real tattoos because they dont think someone would get them, honestly those are pretty normal compared to what people have wanted me to tattoo to them.

As a personal Tattoo Artist, who has been slinging ink for the past 20 years. I have seen botch jobs, I have seen butchers, I have seen talent and I have seen the weird to the normal. These tattoos are real not photoshop, I personally use photoshop for family photos and the such.
The artist who done these has got "REAL" talent and a VERY long career in the ink bussiness.
MAD PROPS to the artist. these are the type of ppl who keep the dreams and the tattoo industry improving for the future compared to the old school tattoos.

There isn't a single tattoo here that doesn't resemble the overworked mess of a seminar junkie, they could all be done by the same robot. I doubt that even one of these "artists" could create a work of art for it's own merits. Individual character, artistic style, and any sense of proportion are absent.
Watch what will happen in the years to come when the colors blast out and the shading blurs into mud.

I love ALL of Mike Devries work! He is incredible.. and yes these are all REAL. Oh, and Marylin Monroe DOES have a LAZY EYE or so it seems if you look at her photo's... and if Mike is the result of too many seminars and has no real talent, why is he now himself the one leading seminars on REALISM and portraiture?
(his apprenticeship, the man who did these tattoos, lasted TWO MONTHS BTW) really incredible work in the tattoo industry... but, i do agree his work could be a bit more creative and some of the proportions are not 100%

Cudos to the artist!! Portaits are not easy to do, and doing them as tattoo's is even trickier!! I am very impressed with these and enjoyed looking at them :)... Ignore the negative comments, if you don't have anything good to say about these then you're not worth listening to.. That's that!!
